ADMISSION POLICY AND PROCEDURE

Don Bosco School Kharagpur offers dual curriculums, affiliated with both the Central Board of  Secondary Education (CBSE) and Cambridge International Education (CIE). The school follows the CBSE curriculum for classes Nursery to XII, while CIE is available for classes Nursery to V.

Parents can choose either the CBSE or CIE curriculum for their child, depending on their choice.

The following are the simple guidelines and procedures to be followed while admitting your child at Don Bosco School Kharagpur.

Step 1: Obtaining Admission Form and Prospectus:

1) Offline registration can be done by obtaining the Admission form from the school office during working hours 8:00 AM-3:00 PM (Monday-Sunday).

2) Online Registration can also be done through the school website.

To be eligible for admission, the candidate must fulfil the age criteria specified below:

Step 2: Submission of Admission Form:

Admission Form duly filled in should be submitted at the school office within 3 days of collecting the same along with the documents mentioned in the admission form. 

Please do not use whitener or rewrite while filling the form. 

Please note that merely submission of Admission form does not guarantee admission.

The below mentioned Documents are also to be submitted at the time of admission apart from the documents shown in the admission form:

1) Child with Special Needs: Medical Certificate

2) Single Parent: Death Certificate of Husband/Wife/Separation Papers/Adoption Papers

3) Transportation form duly filled in

4) Any other relevant documents

5) All the documents in original are required for verification

Without these documents the form will be deemed incomplete and shall not be accepted. Kindly avoid time extension requests for submitting documents.

All documents and information provided shall be subject to verification of authenticity. The school possesses absolute authority to cancel/reject admission in case of submitting incorrect or false information.

Step 3: Admission Process

Once your registration is complete, the admission process will begin. 

Admission to the pre-primary section is granted on a first-come, first-serve basis, while admission to Grades I to IX is based on performance in the written test. However, admission is ultimately subject to availability of seat.

Step 4: Aptitude Test and other processes

The aptitude test and interaction will either confirm the admission or lead to further assessment. 

  • For admission to Class 1 and above, children are required to take a written aptitude test. This test is designed to assess the child’s proficiency based on the learning objectives from the previous year of study.
  • Students seeking admission to Classes I to V will be assessed on their skills in English, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies (EVS).
  • Students seeking admission to Class VI and above will be assessed on English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science.

The School Admission Counsellor or an authorized representative will personally meet with students to discuss their interests and academic progress. This process is for students who found the aptitude test challenging and is intended to help place them in the appropriate class. If necessary, the Admission Committee will also meet with both parents as part of this procedure.

Withdrawal: The Transfer Certificate (TC) application should be submitted by January. The School Leaving Certificate will be issued in March, provided all outstanding dues and obligations have been cleared.

FEE REMITTANCE:

Fees should be paid by DD /NEFT/RTGS/UPI/Card/school app or any other mode intimated by the school. Please ensure that a proper receipt is obtained from the school office for the payment remitted. No cheque shall be accepted. Any Fees once paid will not be refunded. Fees shall be remitted on or before the date informed by the school.
